you can make a difference
Jonathan came to David…
Reading the story of David this week in 1 Samuel, and came across this, as Saul was hunting him down, and had him on the run constantly:
“Then Saul’s son Jonathan came to David in Horesh and encouraged him in his faith in God, saying, ‘Don’t be afraid’…
(1 Sam 23:16-17a)
It strikes me how often we need this, don’t we? That another person might take the time to come alongside us, with all the circumstances of life that we face, the burdens we’re carrying, and encourage us in our faith in God. Something like that can really make a difference.
So…
Hope in God, for he is your salvation.
Trust in God, he is your strength.
Rely on God, he is your strong fortress.
Commit yourself to God, he is steadfast in his love for you.
Run to God, he is a safe shelter.
Cast yourself on God, he will never fail you.
Cry out to God, for he will always answer you.
Confess to God, and he will forgive you.
Look for God, and he will be found by you.
Listen to God, and he will speak with you.
Because of all this and more, walk into this day with fresh faith, and “Don’t be afraid.”
I love you, dear reader.
