He Went Just As Yahweh Had Told Him

Consider how the great mission of God to save the world began…

Yahweh said to Abram:

Go from your land,
your relatives,
and your father’s house
to the land that I will show you.
I will make you into a great nation,
I will bless you,
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt,
and all the peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.

So Abram went, as Yahweh had told him, and Lot went with him.
Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

How would you have responded to the call of Yahweh to go? Would being seventy-five years old have stopped you? Would doubt have stopped you?

The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
